With F1 set to continue its expansion into new markets over the next few years, McLaren boss Ron Dennis sounded a note of caution this week, calling for future calendars not to exceed 20 races a season.


The inclusion of new events in Valencia and Singapore for 2008 means the current number stands at 18, but with Abu Dhabi, India and South Korea all due to join the fray in the near future, plus interest from other potential new countries, there will soon be heavy competition for places.


So is the answer to stretch the season to 20 races and beyond? Or if you believe it should be kept below that limit, will some current venues have to make way?
Sure, more races means more action for us fans, but also what about the rising costs, increasing the already streched logistic issues. I understand that some more traditional races will be pushed aside and that's sad, but I think a mixture of new and old will make a perfect blend and some new tracks could certainly refresh Formula 1 as a whole.
