hiya. there was an opinion on here the other day about tv shows when we were little, i replyed then looked on "youtube", well, sorry to put this again, but now i have a list!!!!... here goes. (oh, some of these, you have to be of a "certain"age to remember)...pogels wood... the woodentops...pinky and perky...bill and ben...muffin the mule... topo gigio...camberwick green.. trumpton.... chigley... stingray..... for those who missed the other opinion.. what programmes can you remember?
i can remember run around,with mike reed,jamie and the magic tourch,sport billy,the tomorrow people,rainbow, rod jane and freddy,magpie,how,hong kong phoey,the hair bear bunch,children of the stones,lizzie dripping.barbapapa,captain caveman,clapaboard,cracajack, and not forgetting bagpuss.
I'm glad you brought it up again dip about kids Tv, because i suddenly thought last night, and am dying to ask Biffo, Hyacinth and carol, and anyone else old enough, if they remember Five o Clock Club ..'Tuesdays, Fridays, 5 oclock club...' with Muriel Young and i think Bert Weedon or was it Wally Whyton...and Fred Barker and OliieOwl ! Can still hear the theme song in my head...and they changed it to Five O Clock Funfair ( remember that theme song too) but the Fun Fair was never as good as the Club!
i think childs tv shows are very good nowadays...there are so many more catorgories than before, such as art (shame about mark in smart), soaps and news for children, the only trouble is many children get obssesed and as a result of this (i think)obesity levels have soared... it doesnt help with the constant advertising of fatty foods and sugary drunks in the breaks! I remember when i was a child there wasnt really much in the way of childrens tv to choose from. but what there was to choose from was amazing ... swapshop!!! those days ruled!
