what are your persoanl views on the huge tax increasres that we have been reciving on items we buy. the average home tax paid now is over £21,000 a year when products we buy are added on. this is £8,000 more thn it was 10 years ago when labour came into power.

Glad to see they have seen sense and increased personal tax allowance, but taxes in this country are becoming a joke what happened to the level playing field of Europe?

lets be honest an increase from 8k to 21k in the space of 10 years is 1.3% per annum in line with the cpi which is at a similiar rate in a number of countries. Tax will always go up as the CPI increases each year, its just a fact of life like birth and death. If the CPI dropped then our wages would drop, the value of property would drop and then we would complain. Don't get me wrong I think that the current price increases in foods and goods and transport are ridiculous but most of those are due to the oil prices currently being charged in Britain which comes back directly to the Oil companies hold on the market and push for unreasonable profits. The increase in council rates has been extortionate in some areas but within expectations in other ones and they do continue to go up as your property value goes up. Just not sure what tax increases exactly you are talking about. Hence why I made my comments as it seems that it is not overly clear which area you are railing against.
