Strange News stories

Strange News stories
lulujackson
Hi everyone, I found a few interesting news stories I thought you might want to read, I thought number two to be very disterbing. I would love to hear any interesting real life news stories that you have discovered and look forward to reading them. Also to yowzer, sorry but the mother and daughter photo is just one I randomly found on line. But I would have been happy if it had been me but unfortunately not xx lulu
1) Curators at the Museum of Modern Art in New York have been forced to kill one of their exhibits. The artwork - which was a tiny, living 'leather' jacket made out of mouse stem cells - had started to grow out of control:Paola Antonelli, head of MoMA’s architecture and design department and curator of the show, says she had to make the decision to turn off the life-support system for the work, basically “killing” it. Ms Antonelli says the jacket “started growing, growing, growing until it became too big. And [the artists] were back in Australia, so I had to make the decision to kill it. And you know what? I felt I could not make that decision. I’ve always been pro-choice and all of a sudden I’m here not sleeping at night about killing a coat...That thing was never alive before it was grown.”
2)A group of teenagers have dug up a secluded grave, removed the skull of a boy from the coffin and converted it into a marijuana bong. Police found out about the grave theft whilst interviewing Kevin Wade Jones, 17, about the use of a stolen debit card and he told them all about it. Police in Houston believe the grave is that of an 11-year-old boy who died in 1921.
3)Louis the octopus clearly thinks two heads are better than one when it comes to toys. The 1.8m-wide (6ft) creature is so attached to Mr Potato Head that he turns aggressive when aquarium staff try to remove it from his tank. Louis cuddles his Mr Potato Head The giant Pacific octopus was given the toy for Christmas and has even learned to dig out food hidden in a secret box at the back of it. 'He's fascinated by it,' said Matt Slater, of the Blue Reef Aquarium in Newquay, Cornwall. 'He attacks the net we use to fish the toy out every time we try to take it away.' Mr Slater added: 'Octopuses are very intelligent and they like to be stimulated and busy.'

Both stories are a bit creepy but I suppose no more creepy than the poor guy who came back from holiday in the Tropics last week complaining that his legs hurt and he could feel his skin literally crawling. he went to the Hospital of Tropical Diseases and they found he had been bitten by a Bot fly that had injected its larvae into his system. They started to hatch out when he got back to England and were literally crawling out of his pores. They gave him anti biotics to kill the things off but that poor guy is going to be ill for quite a while until they clear them out of his system. Just writing about it is making me twitchy.
