Carol, I love your lightheartedness , sense of fun, and the way you pursue your dream ( of travelling) These traits will keep you forever young...Someone once said...''Growing old is mandatory, growing up is optional...We do not stop playing because we are old, we grow old because we stop playing! The secret to staying young, being happy, and achieving success is,you have to laugh every day, and you've got to have a dream.'' .........There is a huge difference between growing older and growing up - if you are nineteen and lie in bed for one full year and don't do anything, you will turn twenty - if you are eighty and stay in bed for a year and never do anything you will turn eighty-one. Everyone grows older, it doesnt take any talent or ability. The idea is to grow up rather thwn grow old by always finding opportunity in change, and to have no regrets. The elderly usually don't have regrets for what they did, but rather for things they did not do. We make a living by what we get, we make a Life by what we give. God promises a safe landing, not a calm passage. And lastly,''Good friends are like stars.....! ......You don't always see them, but you know they are always there.'' ...for me,that applies to lots of people here on Toluna XX

That is just a little too deep and meaningful for me at 5pm on a workday. I grew up when I was young and was always an old head on young shoulders and family and friends would say. Now that I am growing older I am growing in my head quite nicely. I enjoy acting like a child when needed or wanted and also acting like an adult the rest of the time. Nice being able to know when its appropriate to do each and enjoy the benefits of each facet. Never regretted growing old as never missed doing anything or not taken a chance when its come along and plan on continuing life the way I have started it.

I played on the swings in the park.. they go really high... scared the cr## out of me. won't be doing that again. have never been a fan of anything that took my feet off the ground, but in saying that when I was younger I had no problems scaling the mast of an ocean going yacht. riddle me that batman???

At the age of 31 I returned to full time education as a mature student - I explained that just because I was older, did not mean I was any more mature!! It makes no difference how old you get, you can always retain your sense of humour (even learning how best to use wit, sarcasm, and irony!), and you may keep some 'childish traits' - jumped in a large puddle recently, anyone? Sat on the swings in the local park? Usually knowledge comes with age (not always!), and I think that having the wisdom of age enables us to act 'childishly' at times, without any detrimental effects! I certainly do not feel (or act!) my age, usually, but I am old enough to know that there is a time and a place!!

You think you grow up as you get older but it doesnt happen but when you've just cracked it you revert to being childish again due to old age!

Hello yowzer what can I say to that,I do think though that growing up is optional and I still havent taken that option yet, when it comes to my children I like to think that I will be forever young, but my body tells me different,be forever young in mind and soul anyway.
