A 1952 Austin A40 Tourer, my first car and extremely hard to find today. Austin imported A40 2 door Dorsets into OZ and converted 1700 into tourers in their Melbourne factory. The fun I had in mine in the 50's cannot be repeated today in any car.
I love the look of Jaguars and Aston Martins, such elegant cars, not that interested in the facts and figures though, so couldn't say what model/edition or whatever. Was it a Citroen 2CV yowzer - the French car you liked with the curved roof and split flap-up windows? My sister had several of them and was very fond of them, they were very economical for fuel and had a strange gear-shifter handle that came out of the dashboard but she got so used to it that she didn't like driving 'normal' cars with the gearstick in the floor and it was ages before she drove anything different. Think they got a Skoda in the end, brand new for about four grand at the time but nobody wanted a Skoda in those days and not many do now!
Very difficult to decide! I have always hankered afte rthe Shelby GT Ford Mustang, form the sixties (think Steve McQueen in Bullit!), and I had an original 1974 Chevrolet camaro, which was a real head turner, and superb car. I once owned an original 'column change' Ford Taunus (like the old Granada, but bigger and more 'American' looking). Jaguars have always been quite classy (at least the 'cigar' shaped ones!), and I bought my wife an original Mini (pink, cute - the car that is, Oh and the wifes cute too!). I also have a Rover 220 Coupe, a model I was wanting for over five tears before I was successful - not everyones cup of tea, but I like its classic look and superb handling. I also own a Mercedes C280 Sports Saloon, typical Merc looks and performance! There is a large RUSSIAN Saloon called a Volga, which I think has a classic look too! My preferences are for big, roomy, comfortable cars with big powerful engines, that I feel safe in!
I am not well up on cars, and have never heard of the make you mention. I tend to like cute cars like the Morris Minor and the Mini or Mini Cooper, or the Herbie type, can't even think what that car is known as ...how about the Bubble car?? and i used to quite like those French ones, were popular here for a while but havent seen one for years, like a tin can? My friend had a bad accident in one, but cannot think for the life of me what they are - a renault something, had a curved roof and very tinny, were usually bright green or yellow - someone pls put me put of my misery!
