My council tax increased 4.5% this year, and food costs went up well above 3% this year. Even train and bus costs went up 5% (thus my incentive to cycle to work), not to mention gas and electricity! It seems to me the cost of living is increasing at a far greater rate than wages and other earnings. At the current rate of inflation, the poor will get poorer and the rich stay rich. I've actually laughed myself out of some stores, going in to buy something only to discovered it's ridiculously overpriced! | | | 0 people found this opinion useful | | 0 people found this opinion not useful |
